Additive Colour Mixing
Move the sliders to additively mix in the centre panel the colours in the left and right panels. See notes below to see why you might want to do this.
Notes:
Additive Mix:
We know from when Isaac Newton was playing with his prism that mixing coloured lights produces results that at first sight can seem surprising. In particular, full-intensity red and green making an additive mix that is yellow is a non-intuitive result, but true nonetheless.
But there aren’t many tools out there, that additively mix any colour pair and show you what the result will look like. There aren’t many, but this page is one.
For a possible practical application of this tool, you may like to look at my Red on Green Readability page.
Use of the sliders:
You cannot get every available colour by using the sliders, and sometimes moving the sliders will make the colour changes in the sample box seem jumpy. The reasons for this are explained on my use of colour sliders page.
Thanks for your attention. Please keep tuning in to the site as it gets honed and developed periodically. Welcome.
